Privacy Policy
HertzSpot is built so you can use it without handing anything over. The short version: your audio never leaves your device, there are no cookies, ads or accounts, and we keep an email address only if you give us one.

Your audio stays on your device
- Files you open are decoded and analysed by your own browser. They are never uploaded.
- The microphone turns on only when you click to use it. What it hears is analysed on the spot and never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
- Close the tab and it’s gone.
What we count
We count how the site is used, never who uses it.
- Visits. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, which site sent you, your country, the kind of browser and device, and how fast pages load. It doesn’t use cookies or identify you, and it doesn’t follow you to other sites.
- Features. When someone uses a feature, like opening a file or turning on the microphone, that day’s total goes up by one, as in “12 files opened today”. Nothing in these totals says who did it.
- Notes in your browser. Your browser keeps a few small notes in its own storage, not in cookies: the day you first used a tool and which one, and whether you closed the signup box, so it stays closed. The notes stay on your device. They are only used for two of the daily totals: new users, and people who come back within a week. No one is counted twice. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
Your email, only if you sign up
- If you ask to hear about a new feature, we keep your email address and the date you signed up. If you answer the optional “what do you use it for” question, we keep that answer too.
- We use your address only to email you about what you signed up for. We don’t sell it, share it, or add you to any other list.
- Email us to see what we hold about you, or to have your address deleted.
Who handles the data
The site runs on Cloudflare, a US company that also stores the email list and the daily totals for us. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees your IP address when it delivers a page. We don’t keep IP addresses.
Children
The tools don’t ask anyone for personal information, so students can use them in class. The email signup isn’t meant for children under 13. If a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete the address.
Changes and questions
If anything here changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If you have a question, write to hello@hertzspot.com.
